High Season on Mount Pelion is winter. The ski centre in Hania, the village at Pelions' apex, is one of the steepest in Greece. There's slope, then cliff then Aaaaaaaaaaahh Pelion Architecture is very much influenced by the mountain life style and is reminiscent of ski lodges and the mountain villages of the Swiss Alps, with some quirky differences that makes Pelion architecture so unique. Slate roofs and painted decorations over windows is common to the style of this area. People seem to take pride in their properties and houses, which makes the Pelion area very picturesque and colourful, especially now with Spring adding all its' own vibrant colours into the mix. |
