Wed 29 Aug cont - Left - A busy Wednesday morning in the Capital of Vathy. Locals gather opposite the town square to talk over the season, buy some fish or simply to share a cup of coffee.

Right - The shaded village of Stavros under a hazy sky with the mountains of Anoghi, dry and rugged as a stark backdrop. The coolest place to be in Stavros is most definitely the village park, where the tall and shady pines allow the breezes to cool.

Thu 30 Aug - Below Left - A new ball game with digital score rankings takes over the Vathy Town Square for the young and the young at heart. Below Right - The streets may be a little quieter, but the bays are certainly not as more Flotillas sail into the harbours around Ithakis south and north.

Fri 31 Aug - Another month of Summer Lodown is over and by the looks of it, maybe the Season, but as it was last year, a small lull preceded another burst in September, so who knows what will happen between now and the end of Sept.

Sun 2 Sep - During the Summer the heavy mist that rolls over Exoghi blocks out half the mountain when looking up at the village, but what does it look like from the village? Well, in the village itself it looks like winter looking out at Summer.

Left - Gypsies bring a song to the villages., going restaurant to restaurant collecting change. Above - September Moon.

Mon 3 Sep - Above and Below - Day Trippers are still coming into Kioni, but now the boats are not filled to the rafters with holidayers, more manageable numbers are setting foot on shore. With some fresher weather today, there was a renewed energy for all those working the shoreline. Some Day Trippers head first to the restaurants, others directly to the nearest beach, which in Kionis case is Katsikouli.

Few people stay or go through Kioni, who do not immediately fall in love with this village. It has the look of a picture postcard, a look which is not easily dismissed from the memory of those holidaying on Ithaca.

The quieter far side of Kioni, with its traditional houses and quaint accommodations, is also the way to the many beaches of Kioni

Above - The popular Avra Restaurant in Kioni, right on the bay.
