A drizzly and foggy day for Kathara Deftera (Clean Monday), but we headed to Anoghi in the mountains and then onto Kioni on the bay to see if the weather was deterring anyone from celebrating this Greek Orthodox beginning of Lent. Of course there weren't as many people as there would have been on a blue sky and sunny day, but there were enough to make the food and drink disappear. Since the national elections, it also seems a heavy weight has lifted off the local community as they anticipate better times ahead, despite what the media is preaching.
