Fri 10 June - Below - Kioni. Yesterday was a bit of a shock to the system with temps falling to around 20 C. The skies started to clear late afternoon, so hopefully some more warm days ahead.
Below - Last night is was back indoors at the restaurants in Frikes. No this isn't Panighiri time. Some visitors settled in for the night with a little song and dance at Symposium. Keep pouring that wine Meropi.

Sat 11 June - Left and Right. Friends volunteer for a working bee at Yefiri Restaurant in Platrithia so that the long awaited opening can be shortened somewhat. Locals have been stopping by as they pass the old Levendis building to see how the building is being transformed from a wreck into a thing of beauty. The owners are still hoping for a June opening.
Jillian has just recently arrived on the island, cleaning up her dwelling in Ag. Sarantas after a long absence and gets straight into sanding old tables, and Rien, who's been painting Lefki turns in his whitewash for some eco friendly pigment to help paint the Yefiri interior. Pics of Yefiri coming when it's ready.

Sat 11 June - Above - A quiet and windy Saturday morning in Frikes. Not a yacht in the harbour, not a soul in the streets.
Kioni Blue
Above - Locals gather at Calypso Restaurant in Kioni for a chat and a glass of wine

Above - Lunch with a bay view at Mythos Restaurant in Kioni. The cool wind had people getting into the sun for warmth.
All Aboard

On the edge of Avra Restaurant there are two places waiting for you. The wind is bound to stop sometime and then this will be the best place to sit on the bay.

A slightly rough crossing for the Day Trippers into Kioni. Wind, wind, wind. It's driving the locals mad!
Yachties pretty much stay on their vessels when docked around Ithaki. Why?

Mon 13 June - Above - Road from Stavros to Frikes is in full bloom with great views of the mainland in the distance.

Above - Looking for somewhere to hide from the wind that's been plaguing the island for 10 days. Frikes was all but empty.

Winds clear the mist from the skies, but drive people so crazy they don't care the views are spectacular. Brrrrrrrrrrr!
2 lonely boats in the harbour

Platrithia has not had a Steki (Hangout) for many years, but with the opening of Yefiri in the not too distant future, there is a promise of new life to the area...and food.
Mon 13 June - Below - Andy and Mark, new owners of Yefiri Restaurant in Platrithias, celebrate Andys' birthday on the premises. We get a sneak preview of what inside Yefiri looks like before its' official opening. There's still work to be done, but the hard stuff is over. The boys finally get to take a breather to enjoy the outcome of the effort put into getting Yefiri ready for a June opening.
