When the idea was expressed to Mrs. Yiannokopoulou, the President of the Vathy Gallery, she joined Dimitris Danis in presenting the exhibition to the Ithacan people. Dimitris Danis shares his inspirations with the people of Ithaca as to inspire their own creativity, to open their hearts and ignite in them, fond memories of the past. |

The idea of this exhibition started after a lovely night with friends reminiscing about the 'old days' and how much fun they would have been. "The past has always inspired me." says Dimitris Danis. "I believe in the old days, 20's 30's 40's and 50's, people were more sensitive, more romantic and enjoyed the simple pleasure of listening to music more so than today. Wonderful years that gave wonderful inspiration to Greek and foreign artists to create and to leave their mark. I continue to be fascinated by the past and hope others will share this fascination." |
