It was unfortunate that most who attended were from the main village of Vathy, but a few northerners did manage to attend, and were happy they made the effort. In the south, ET3 had been the buzz on the streets for a week, but northerners, were not forgotten. ET3 made several trips to the villages there to take footage and involve the locals.
Looking good in the traditional costumes of Ithaca.

The Choir and musicians gave a truly wonderful performance. The hills (Square) were alive, let's say.

Ithaca really went all out to impress. Tradition and pride were abundant and present in the faces of all who have a love for this small island in the Ionian.

The children of Ithaca were fascinated with the cameras and the camera men, following them around like puppies to get the real deal on this television thing. They were tempted into looking directly into the lenses of passing cameras, and some just couldn't pass the opportunity by.

Organizers within the Ithaki Council, were proud participants in the day. They watched with the same awe as the children, while the filming of 'Sunday in the Village' took place.

Young people, old people and the inbetween shared in the days' event. It's not every day a television station comes to town, let alone a film crew documenting Ithaca and its people and culture

sometimes you just have to get into the middle of it all

The interviews
.
Marni Hatziemanuil, went around the tables set up in the Vathy Square and interviewed the locals about their thoughts on the island. Ithacans poured out history and personal memories to the Presenter and shared with her the special place Ithaki has in their hearts. Marni, sensitive in her approach to interviewing, released inhibition in the locals to make for an interesting presentation on the Ithaca.

More dancing and singing

And now for the recorded version...
