During WW1 and after the death of her husband, Lady Hamilton lost all she owned to the Germans. She was left to sell her jewels and furniture to survive. |

With her furniture and jewels sold to the wealthy families of Ithaca, all that was left in the house was a stone sun dial, still owned by the current of owner of Hamilton House today. Elizabeth Hamilton moved to Patras with her adopted daughter, Eva Kaliga, where she was buried as a pauper by the Municipality of Patras in an unmarked grave. To this day her grave has not been found, and thus little evidence remains of her existence in Greece, other than the pieces of jewelery and furniture collected by the inheritors of her misfortune and this wonderful property on Ithaca - Hamilton House.
When buying Hamilton House you are not only buying a piece of Prime Real Estate, but a piece of Ithakis history.
Viewing of Hamilton House is strictly by appointment only
