I was born and brought up in Athens, but Ithaca runs through my veins, and I have the Ionion Island madness (in the good-sense) in my flesh. Dealing with nephropathy, 8 years blood purification and the third year of my kidney transplant, I can give you my advice that life itself has given me. Life's best gift towards man is his health (therefore do not waste it) It is not science fiction, nor a future achievement. Humans can give life to other humans by donating their organs. When I was still going through the blood purification process I had a campaign regarding organ donation and its dangers to the body If you would like to find out more on organ donation and how to become a donor, log onto Today I am doing my degree at the TEI Athens, on Business Administration and Economics In Tourism, and I am working as a civil servant at the Athens Northern Council. I try and visit Ithaki at least twice a year, when I can, I find different routes and ways to get there – as the great poet Cavafis wrote: “ As you find your way to Ithaki, hope that your journey shall be a long one” because on a journey, what matters is not the destination, but the journey itself. Besides life itself is a BIG JOURNEY
