Despina Karantges lives in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She was born in Kioni in 1939, went to school and got married in its church. Her parents were the late Yianni and Dimaristi Paizi. She moved to South Africa in 1959, where she had 3 children, Helen, Dennis and John. She has been an active member of the Port Elizabeth Greek Community for many, many years. Having retired from the Hotel industry in 2002, Despo spends her time with her friends, children and 3 Grandchildren. Despo loves Kioni, and has returned on numerous occassions. 2007 is the year that she has returned with her sons, daughter in law and 2 grandchildren.
