Stavros > Vathy
When I turned up for the Vathy Parade, the band was already playing it's way down from the church through the main strip of Vathy. There weren't as many people at the parade as other years and the Mayor, Mr. Kassianos was also noticably absent. Still, those who took part, really enjoyed their contribution to the morning's celebrations for Unfication Day.
After the parade and speeches were over, everyone headed to the cafes in the village square to socialise with their friends, and Tuesday (usually a working day) was celebrated like a Sunday. A colourful morning for visitors who were scattered around the fringes of the main street.
