This year the Ithacan Philanthropic Society of Melbourne established two 'Academic Awards', valued at 1000 euros each, to be awarded to students graduating from the Lykeio Ithakis. The awards are for the highest achieving students in the Panhellenic Examinations in the 'General' and 'Vocational' streams. The recipients of the inaugural awards were Giorgos Paxinos (Vocational stream) and Eleftherios Tsintilas (General stream).
The awards were presented by representatives of the Ithacan Philanthropic Society, Anna Vlass, Peter Andrews and Andrew Raftopoulos.
