Inspired

By

Georgia Raftopoulos

Floating, searching, identifying i dive

warmly transluscent, inviting at stake

this female carries her shell opaque

unwarry for my quest the finger i spike

sunrise orange the eggs a-clinging

accomplished - the years a-vanishing

smells tastes as when i was just five

Mavrounas the crown of St Ilia

ancestors grounds mother n thia

mind is alive-such youth relived

humble sea urchin - the joys retrieved

Breeze a-sway the laden vessel

barbounia and pines on pebbles unload

beaming is the greeting kalimera

nowhere on earth is so fairer.
