Anoghi Views - 7 Days after the Black Out and Snowfall

When you walk through the village of lower Anoghi, there are many ruins scattered along the narrow streets, some houses were abandoned, others were destroyed in the earthquakes of 1953. This mountain village gives a unique insight into the life of old Ithaca.  Anoghi is a peaceful place to reflect and seems worlds away from lower Ithaki. From the plateau, the views across to other islands and the mainland are spectacular. The smell of snow and wood fires permeate through the air.
