By May, fisherman have their boats back in the water and are enthusiastically bringing in their catch and the mornings are busy times again in all the villages. Afternoon walks to Exoghi, collecting pebbles from Aphales Beach, coffee at the Kafeneion, shopping morning in Vathy, sweets from the bakery and music echoing across the valleys. Ithaca is wide awake in May. The days are getting longer and warmer, and with Easter, this year falling in May, the island will be in full swing with little break before the Summer.
