Dear Erika So, so pleased to see today that you have put some up to date September photos on your website.  Hurrah!! We have really, really  missed you keeping us updated on what's happening on Ithaca. Sounds as though you are very glad of the rain. we would be grateful for some sunshine. August in England was miserable! You've put the sunshine back in our lives with your photos Look forward to seeing more of our favourite island Keep smiling with best wishes Kath and Gordon Leeds England

I'm glad that the Pheonix has risen from the ashes ... welcome back Erika.  Lesa x

Hiya Erika, Good that whatever problems you had are sorted. Good also to hear that the rain, although unwelcome at times, is starting. It's that rain that makes Ithaki and the Ionian Islands so green and produces the many flowers in the
spring. We're back in Ithaki in October for a week and expect the usual dramatic weather... brief thunderstorms and then bright sunshine. England at the moment is dismally grey.. can't wait to get to Dexa!! Pete and Gwyn

Hello from Australia, from Liz Branson! My mum's maiden name is Judith Dracatos (or it may be spelt Drakatos), and I am one of her six children, and our grandfather was Peter Dracatos, who migrated to Melbourne in the 30's (round about), from Ithaki. Pop was a chef on boats and travelled the world from when he was around 13 till he was 20, working in various roles on various ships and boats, (mainly a cook.)  We are not sure were he lived on Ithaki, but we do know that he spoke about a family, two sisters, his mother, (who's maiden name was Pathenope Razzos, born in 1860, and his father, Peter Dracatos; and we are trying to contact any living relatives of his family, because they would be our cousins too!  Mum has three sisters and a broter, Pathanope, Alice, Margie (dec.) and Peter.  We, as her children, are planning a big surprise for her in a year or less, and saving to send her to Ithaki, to reconnect with her Greek family that she has never known.  If anyone knows about out grandfather, or of the whereabouts of any of his relatives, I would love you to be in contact with us via this email address  dractos@aapt.net.au I am currently searching through the people from the "Ithaca locals" lists, to see if there are any dracatos familys. It would be so exciting to connect with some family, as I plan to travel to Ithaki with my husband and three sons one day in the future! love from Liz Branson, Muckleford, Victoria, Australia.
